“My day is filled with meetings with various coworkers, where we discuss new solutions for new products.”
Position
Production technician for painting, VBG Truck Equipment
What are your duties/tasks? Describe a typical day at work.
During my typical work day, I make sure that the painting process works as it should. That can mean that I prepare instructions for how the painted products should be hanged for painting, or for how they should be picked and packed, so that my coworkers have a basis for their work. I also draw designs for different parts needed in the painting process, for example hangers for new products. In partnership with one of our suppliers, I also develop masking for all of our new products. Masking is used to cover certain parts of a product during painting, so that it isn’t painted. I also make sure that we have the chemicals we need for our dipping bath, so that there aren’t any interruptions in the painting process.
My day is also filled with meetings with various coworkers – designers, operators, and quality engineers. Among other things, we discuss new solutions for new products, or about problems that have occurred in the existing painting process and how we can solve them. When dealing with problems that our customers have had, it is particularly important that the improvements we make guarantee that the problem doesn’t arise again.
My role includes as well working with creating improvements and complying with the 5Ss, which is a Lean method for establishing good habits and orderliness in the workplace.
What do you like most about your work?
There’s so much to the painting process that you’ll never learn everything. Every day brings new challenges and new things to learn – that’s what I like about this job. Recently, for example, I’ve completed a CAD training course so I can draw plans for different suppliers. I also think it’s fun to work with so many different types of people.
What is VBG Truck Equipment like as a workplace?
I’ve had many different employers, but I’ve been here for over ten years and I really enjoy what I’m doing. We have an open atmosphere and all questions are welcome in discussions.

“As Group Controller, I gain an overall view of the company, which I think is extremely interesting.”
Position
Group Controller, Mobile Climate Control
What are your duties/tasks? Describe a typical day at work.
My responsibilities at Mobile Climate Control include internal financial reporting, budget coordination and forecasts, and internal control. I often work in close collaboration with the CFO and the financial managers of the respective subsidiaries. After my colleagues have reported the financial results for their companies, I consolidate and analyse the results for the division. Reports and analyses based on these are delivered to both divisional and Group Management.
My work tasks also include reporting the results to VBG Group’s financial department and to the auditors and local authorities for our Swedish companies. I also manage the division’s budgeting and forecasting processes during the year, and coordinate our internal control of the financial processes at Mobile Climate Control. In addition, I also work routinely on improving and developing our group consolidation system in order to enhance the efficiency of and to improve reporting in Mobile Climate Control’s financial organisation.
What do you like most about your work?
As Group Controller, I gain an overall view of the company, which I think is extremely interesting. I first get to see how the subsidiaries have developed separately, then what effect the subsidaries’ earnings have for Mobile Climate Control as a whole, and after that for all of VBG Group. You get a real overview and understanding of the entire company’s process, and how all parts are important for the company to function. In addition, we are extremely solution-oriented in our work and focused on enhancing efficiency in processes and reporting, which I also like a lot.
What is Mobile Climate Control like as a workplace?
I think Mobile Climate Control is a great place to work. I’ve been getting on very well with co-workers, the business culture, and the work methods since I began working here. Mobile Climate Control has an open climate and is positively disposed towards employees improving themselves and learning new things. I really appreciate that.

“Working in an international environment allows me to practice my foreign language skills, which is one of the things that I really like.”
Position
Customer Service/Export, Ringfeder Power Transmission
What are your duties/tasks? Describe a typical day at work.
I am a contact person for both subsidiaries and customers per email and telephone. My work includes handling requests, managing orders, coordinating shipments and preparing export documents.
What do you like most about your work?
That I have a variety of interesting duties and responsibilities as well as a lot of customer contact. Working in an international environment allows me to practice my foreign language skills, which is one of the things that I really like. I also feel that the team I am part of works very well together – we are an excellent team!
How is Ringfeder Power Transmission as a workplace?
When you work in customer service, every day is a new challenge since we take care of several tasks and have to find solutions that satisfy the customer. It can be about finding alternative solutions. Sometimes, activities within the entire supply chain have to be very flexible to meet the customers’ requirements for specific applications. This means that we have to learn to work cross-functionally.
I also find our products very interesting. They are related to several different industry sectors (mining, shipping, earthquake protection, etc.) and this wide range gives you the chance to gain a lot of experience and know-how that benefits you as an employee.
Ringfeder Power Transmission is very flexible regarding work hours and taking on new tasks. For example, when new laws are passed, employees adapt their work to the standards and requirements. All in all, I think that this creates a really good team spirit within Ringfeder Power Transmission.

“End-customer visits are important since that is when we learn what works in reality and what does not.”
Position
Key Account Manager, VBG Truck Equipment
What are your duties/tasks? Describe a typical day at work.
Typically, I visit different types of customers, such as our retailers and wholesalers, but also end customers, hauliers for example. End-customer visits are important since that is when we learn what works in reality and what does not. It is also the perfect opportunity to introduce both new products and our accessories to the customer.
Part of my job involves supplying our retailers with shop fittings and helping them to display our products and brands in a professional manner in their stores. I also hold a number of product courses for our customers.
Days when I’m in the office I devote to both customer phone calls and administrative tasks such as scheduling visits, writing reports and participating in internal meetings and courses.
What do you like most about your work?
Contact with the customers, without a doubt. Meeting so many different types of people, from managing directors to mechanics, is both inspiring and a chance to learn. On top of which, I enjoy seeing as much of Sweden as I do. North Sweden is my account area, meaning I’m away at least two nights a week.
Another plus is that I work where VBG Truck Equipment has its head office and production. This means that the products I sell and the people who are involved in developing and manufacturing the products are close at hand. This, in turn, makes it easy for me to “speak from the heart” with my customers and, if I notice that a customer has a specific need, it is easier to convey this message and influence internally.
What is VBG Truck Equipment like as a workplace?
What stands out is our sense of pride, both in the brands we have and the company’s history dating back to founder Herman Krefting. It is also a workplace that has a strong and down-to-earth “we feeling”.
